Buros Institute of Mental Measurements: The ERIC/AE Test Locator link will allow you to identify tests by title, author, publisher, or subject. A brief annotation of each test is included. The Test Review Locator link identifies reviews in Mental Measurements Yearbook s, Tests in Print , and Test Critiques . You may order reviews ( only if you have citations) from the OCLS Document Delivery Office.

Education Week: Online version of national magazine focusing on educational issues.

Education World: An electronic magazine focusing on educational issues and search engine and subject-browsable catalog of over 120,000 web sites related to education.

Educator's Reference Desk : A resource that provides access to searching the ERIC bibliographic database, comprised of RIE (Resources in Education) and CIJE (Current Index to Journals in Education), as well as AskEric, which links to a variety of primary Internet resources including FAQs for educators, listserv archives, lesson plans, and more. The Eric system is still in beta testing and covers the years 1982-1993, but will be updated when the system is fully operational.

ERIC Thesaurus: Developed by the Educational Resources Information Center (ERIC) of the National Library of Education, the thesaurus represents the definitive vocabulary for education. These terms may be used in the Descriptors or Descriptors Phrase fields when searching in the ERIC database. To search the ERIC database for articles, documents, or digests, use the link to FirstSearch below.

GEM: The Gateway to Educational Materials: A National Library of Education (NLE) Consortium initiative of Internet-based lesson plans, curriculum units and other educational materials from government, nonprofit, and commercial sites.

PBS Teacher Source: Information for teachers from PBS .

Peterson's Education & Career Center: Information on US-accredited educational institutions and special programs found around the world. Includes information on elementary and secondary schools, colleges and universities, professional degree programs, study abroad, executive management programs, distance learning, financial aid, internships, summer programs, and career information.

TIP: Explorations in Learning & Instruction: The Theory Into Practice Database: Contains brief summaries of 50 major theories of learning and instruction which can also be accessed by learning domains and concepts. 

Canadian Resources

Association of Canadian Community Colleges: is the national membership organization that represents colleges and institutes to government, business and industry, both in Canada and internationally.  ACCC organizes conferences and workshops for staff, students and Board members to facilitate networking and participation in national and international activities.

Canadian Association for University Teachers: is the national voice of university academic staff in Canada. CAUT promotes the interests of teachers, professional librarians and researchers in Canadian universities and university colleges, advances the standards of their profession, and seeks to improve the quality of higher education in Canada.

Canadian Education on the Web: Brings together everything relating to Canada and education that has a presence on the World Wide Web. Includes Canadian educational organizations, universities and colleges, ministries of education, educational networks, education libraries, distance education, databases, clearinghouses, and much more.

Canadian Information by Subject: contains resources on all aspects of education compiled by the National Library of Canada.

National PTA: Official Web page of the National Parent Teacher Association.

SchoolResults.org: The School Information Partnership is a public-private collaboration designed to empower parents, educators and policymakers to use the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) data to make informed decisions and improve school results.

TeachNet Lesson Ideas: Lesson plans organized by subject.

Trends in the Use of School Choice: This report uses data from the National Household Surveys Program (NHES) to present trends that focus on the use of and users of public schools (assigned and chosen), private schools (church- and non church-related), and homeschoolers between 1993 and 2003.

Community College Resources

American Association of Community Colleges: is the primary advocacy organization for community colleges at the national level and works closely with directors of state offices to inform and affect state policy.  AACC web site provides community college research briefs and statistics.

Australian Educational Research: Research Online is produced by the Cunningham Library of the Australian Council for Educational Research. It gives a good snapshot of Australian education research. Particularly of interest are the online conference papers of the Australian Association for Research in Education which are free for printing. Journal articles requested through EdResearch Online may require a copyright fee, but most of the articles should be available through the OCLS Document Delivery Office.

Center for Community College Policy: Ccreated to support the development of public policy that encourages the development of effective and innovative community colleges across the United States.

Community College Research Center: The mission of the Community College Research Center at Columbia University is to carry out and promote research on major issues affecting the development, growth and changing roles of community colleges in the United States.

Education Resource Organizations Directory: Exchanges information on issues, trends, and projects, including state and federal legislation as well as finances relating to community colleges; shares data from the state and national levels to provide a perspective on community colleges; promotes research and legislation at the national level in concert with the American Association of Community Colleges; provides programs of assistance to members. This directory includes thousands of organizations that provide services on a state, regional, or national level

ERIC Clearinghouse for Community Colleges: A comprehensive site with listings of associations, conferences, jobs, financial aid, government resources, grants, journals and teaching resources.

League for Innovation in the Community College: An international organization dedicated to catalyzing the community college movement. We host conferences and institutes, develop Web resources, conduct research, produce publications, provide services, and lead projects and initiatives with our member colleges, corporate partners, and other agencies in our continuing efforts to make a positive difference for students and communities
