Award Winner
The Twelfth Off-Campus Library Services Conference is happy to announce that Dan Lawrence is the first Conference Award winner.
Dan has written that “I believe this conference can play a crucial role in the development of a professional network that will support my interests in distance learner library support and encourage my long term professional aspirations for a management position or professorship in distance education and information seeking.”

Dan H. Lawrence is the Librarian at the Prevention Information Center, housed at the Rocky Mountain Center for Health Promotion and Education.
He is responsible for marketing and disseminating substance abuse materials to prevention educators, professionals, and researchers across the state of Colorado.
A native of the Silicon Valley, he holds an M.L.S. from San Jose State University. His fascination with the interaction between information, educational theory, and media technologies has led him to pursue a Ph.D. in Educational Technology with an emphasis in Distance Education and Instructional Design at the University of Northern Colorado. His last position was as Instruction Librarian and Asst. Professor at the University of Northern Colorado.
This award will cover registration fees, travel and lodging. Requirements for this new award are as follows:
- has never attended an Off-Campus Library Services Conference
- must either be a library science student interested in distance education or a librarian who has worked less than two years with off-campus students.
- must prepare a presentation and paper about a pertinent off-campus topic.
