Abstract
With the proliferation of distance education programs, it is essential to consider methods to reach faculty who are often at a distance themselves. This paper discusses how the Libraries and School for Professional Studies Distance Learning department at Regis University collaborated to develop an online workshop in WebCT designed to raise faculty awareness of library resources and services and to train them to integrate library activities into the courses they teach.

Erin has been a librarian since 1997. Prior to Regis, she worked at the DePaul University Libraries. At both institutions her focus has been on distance learning or extended campus library services, adult learners, and instruction.

Tom Riedel has been Distance Services Librarian at Regis University for seven years. Over the past several years he has sought ways to collaborate with teaching faculty, as well as with instructional designers in Regis distance learning departments.

Tina Parscal is the Resident Faculty and Assistant Director of Distance Learning in Regis University’s School for Professional Studies. In this capacity, she provides training and professional development for online faculty and teaches in the area of Adult Learning and Development. She has worked in higher education for fifteen years and ten years as an online educator. She holds a B.A. in Psychology and Sociology, a Master of Social Sciences with an emphasis in adult learning, and is a doctoral candidate in instructional design.

Regis University has 16,000 students.
