Call for Proposals
The Fifteenth Distance Library Services Conference is an opportunity to present your research, knowledge and experience to your peers. All professional, faculty, administrative, and staff members who are involved in providing library services for students at a distance are invited to submit. The proceedings will be published separately and featured in special issues of the Journal of Library & Information Services in Distance Learning.
SUBJECT TRACKS:
The following subject tracks are appropriate for this conference. It is understood that a presentation may fall into more than one track
- Research
Surveys, assessment, statistics, theories, overviews
- Teaching and learning
Methods, strategies, models, online, face-to-face
- Electronic information and delivery
E-resources, online tutorials, streaming video, virtual reference, social media
- Collaboration
Librarian, faculty, consortia, between institutions
- Administration and support services
Program development, document delivery, course management systems, collection development, budgets, staffing
SESSION FORMATS:
The conference offers several session formats from which to choose:
- Presentations
- Workshops
- Panel Discussions
- Poster Sessions
SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL:
The deadline for submission was September 16, 2011.
EVALUATION AND ACCEPTANCE:
After September 16, 2011, the DLS Conference Program Advisory Board will be provided with blind copies of the proposal abstracts. Proposals will be evaluated based on their potential interest to conference attendees, contribution to the body of knowledge associated with the field of distance library services, and their clarity of organization and expression. Program balance and room space may also be a factor in proposal selection. All presenters will be notified regarding their status of their proposals by October 3, 2011.
