There will be an edition of the proceedings published in conjunction with the Off-Campus Library Services Conference. This edition will be prepared from the Microsoft Word document you submit to us. Manuscripts submitted as PDF will not be accepted. When preparing your manuscript, please observe the guidelines below for consistency in format.
STYLE & FORMAT
All manuscripts should be composed according to the organization and style presented in the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.; 2009).
Additional requirements:
- All margins should be one and a half inches on the left, at least one inch top, bottom and right on every page.
- Use a 10 pt., Times New Roman font.
- Single space within paragraphs; double space between paragraphs.
- Do not right justify the right margin.
- Do not number pages.
- Do not use a running head.
- All verbatim comments included in the text and appendices (if any) should be spelled correctly and make use of proper grammar.
- Title, author(s), and affiliation(s) must be included at the top of the first text page as shown on the following sample title page.
- The exact spelling and order of name(s) and affiliation(s) that appear on the paper will be used in the official conference program with no exceptions or changes after submission and should be identical with the author’s agreement.
- A one-paragraph abstract should follow the title, author(s) and affiliation(s). Space the abstract two and one-half inches on the left and two inches on the right; right justify the abstract only. The abstract should not exceed 150 words. Poster session abstracts should follow the above guidelines.
- All tables and appendixes must be formatted to the margin widths specified above.
- All tables, graphs, and charts should be in the proper APA format and included as separate image files, so that the editors can place them where most appropriate in the text. Please include a short, descriptive title for each table, graph and chart used.
LENGTH
Minimum length is 5 pages, excluding appendices.
COPYRIGHT
Submitted papers remain the property of the author(s). Central Michigan University does request that it be granted use exceptions in the following instances:
- Central Michigan University reserves the right to publish the manuscript in the official conference proceedings of the Fourteenth Off-Campus Library Services Conference;
- Central Michigan University reserves the right to sign a contract with Taylor and Francis Group, LLC that allows Taylor and Francis to print, publish, reproduce, and distribute the aforementioned manuscript in (but not limited to) the Journal of Library Administration and to distribute it through third-party database aggregators;
- Central Michigan University reserves the right to provide public access to the manuscript content, after a two-year embargo, through the Off-Campus Library Services web site.
PUBLICATION
The OCLS Conference Executive Committee reserves the right to omit papers that do not conform to these guidelines and the Standards for Writing Papers from the Conference proceedings.
SUBMISSION
Manuscripts are due on December 18, 2009. Submit manuscripts as attachments to an e-mail to ocls2010@cmich.edu. Manuscripts submitted as PDF will not be accepted.
